Towing a Geo Metro Jim Mizell 9-2-07
Does anyone have any experience towing a five-speed Geo Metro. I have a 94 model that I've restored and am using as a tow car behind my diesel pusher. Thus far, I've towed it on a two-wheel dolly, but would be much better with four wheels on the road, if that didn't ruin the transmission. Thanks.

I have friend with a geo tracker, he has towed it cross country and back, cost a lost of repair $. He likes to talk about the problems, going to sell the tracker and get used jeep.

I have towed a 1993 metro 5 speed about 15,000 miles with no problems. However just today I read in a Haynes repair manual that it wasn't recommended to do so. I plan to continue towing.

Our new dinghy, a 93 manual Geo metro has the base plate installed and it is attached to the tow bar. Now, what else should I know about towing the Metro. I have read that we need to secure the steering wheel with a bungee cord, but don't know the reason or the details. What else should I know?
