I have a leak beneath the toilet. I suspect it the water line itself I cannot see below the pedastal. I need to remove the toilet can anyone guide me on this. I can see the bolt in the front and there is a plastic insert in the ring above that I removed but couldnt see in ther very well is the other bolt down there? Or is it in the back which has to removed by feel?
If tedford toilet, there is 1 nut(copper) on each side or at front & back, use a flashlight to see. You just need to break them loose & unscrew with your fingers. Need 1/2" wrench. Probably leaking at the plastic valve. TURN WATER OFF.

Just had to remove mine, 1988 34 foot. Push down on the flush pedal and you will see a stud with a nut on it. This is the front bolt, which is about the 5 o'clock position. Now, if you reach around behind the unit and feel around, you will find the similar stud and nut at the 11 o'clock position. Remove both nuts and disconnect water supply then lift straight up. The information I found on this said to pull the little cap under the seat and use a 12 inch extension with a 1/2 inch socket. Well this is almost impossible. Maybe to tighten, but not to remove.
Anyway, I pulled mine out in hopes of replacing it with a new model, but not sure what is a good replacement and also one that will bolt right in.
Any suggestions regarding replacement would be appreiciated.
