|Re: 1976 Dodge Explorer RV by Dan Darling|
My name is Dan Darling, we live in central Illinois & have a 1972 24' Explorer we call the "2 Soon"... I know of only about a dozen left on the road & yours might make a lucky 13 of us! Pictures of ours can be found at these links:
There are so few of us Explorer owners with mostly different coaches that we don't seem to chat much amongst us. I'd be glad to "talk" to you or e-mail back & forth about yours - also be glad to provide you with any info about them that I have or know. I mostly "hang out" on the MSN group Classic Winnebagos - for old Winnie's, But we're made very welcome here - Great Group! My ID there is DanD2Soon

Also as DanD2Soon, I check in fairly often to the Yahoo group: Classicrv: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/classicrv/messages The Yahoo Classicrv group has so many pictures being added all the time that they've had to delete the older ones and ours got "zapped" some time ago...
Both of those groups have great communities of knowledgeable and helpful people who monitor them and are anxious to help anyone who asks! And I also find an amazing amount of helpful info on MyTravco.com http://www.mytravco.com/ - Its pages load slowly but, Wow, what a treasure-trove of stuff about our oldies. We've put a pretty nice solar power system on the 2 Soon, so as far as the solar is concerned, just ask, and I'll help with whatever I can tell you. There are also several folks on the CW(Classic Winnebagos) group who have solar and are real good sources!
I did setup an MSN group, Vintage Explorer-Class A Motor Homes, in 2004 to post the info I had been able to glean from the internet about us and our Explorers - the info there includes owner names, brief equipment descriptions, e-mail addresses, and locations as best I knew & pictures. I believe it's the Best collection of Explorer Pics On line - please feel free to use that group as a place to post your pictures, (my MSN storage space limit is about used up there, but each MSN groups member gets 3MB to use as they choose and that's a pretty big photo album.)or send me your info and I'll include it there (it's about time for me to make an annual post to it anyway) - the link to that group is: http://groups.msn.com/VintageExplorer-ClassAMotorHomes/general.msnw
Look forward to hearing more from you and about your Explorer...
