Back in the '70's, all medium to low-end coaches had wooden frames, but to my knowledge, they all had steel rollbars. Most of them were built on Dodge light truck chassis. The old "woodies" were still pretty good coaches, and there are a lot of them running around yet today.
The Allegro (Tiffin Mfg. Co.) began building coaches with aluminum frames early on, but I am not exactly sure when. |
