89 Bounder Nick 4-30-01
Need some help. Have a 454 engine that keeps dying on me at about 35 to 45 miles per hour. The couch will idle for ever, but as soon as you start building up RPM's the engine cuts out. It is driving me nuts. If I put say $10.00 or more of fresh gas in the tank, the engine seems to run until fuel in tank is consumed. I have changed the filter at the carb. Can anyone help!!!!!!11

Try putting a new fuel filter on. You may have got some bad gas.

Make sure your fuel tank vents are not plugged. If vaccum develops in tank it will limit fuel flow. This can be checked by idling for a long time then opening gas tank cap. If air rushes in your vents are plugged. I remedied problem by drilling small hole in plastic gas tank cap. Not the proper fix but did the job when this problem developed in the UP of Michigan.

My Bounder has 2 filters on the left side under the fresh water pump 1 is for the genset the other is for the motor, replace them.
