|Re: P30 Wiper Motor by Xpltivdletd|
|You might look at another class of vehicle built on the 'P30' chassis. Beyond owning a 1981 'P32M' project-vehicle, I have no commercial interest in GM, Grumman-Olson or Mill Supply Inc.
The latter is on the Net at "www.walkinvan.com" and supports vehicles dating that far back. Their catalogues describe the parts and sub-assemblies they carry--well enough you'll probably know if the item you're looking-at there is the replacement you need.
Yeah... I have this pipe-dream of making a Class A (B½..?) motorhome out of a 6½x17½ Grumman® Kurbmaster® for those 'roads-less-traveled.' Sitting on a 125"WB 'P30' chassis wearing six 8R-19.5s she looks a bit unusual but it's all OE and she handles beautifully on roads that don't have a lot of room!
When you find your replacement wiper-motor, you might want to consider 2 things. Check the rest of your system for excessive play anywhere that may have hammered that casting until it failed. And it's a good idea to make sure your wipers aren't stuck or iced to the glass before getting underway each time. The load those wipers put on the motor-unit and its supports just operating normally--probably approaches the design limits. I wish you success within-budget. RKBA! Regards, all.
