Does anybody know of the early 70s Amigo Motorhome? My famiy owned a 1973 - 28 foot. 413 Chrysler. I sold it in 1993 but still have an afinity for it.
I have searched for years to see one for sale someplace.. or to find something about them on the web. Such as a club or something.
The company was not in business very long and from what I understand they turned from making motorhomes to making small city buses.
If anybody knows anything about the old rigs or could guide me someplace, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well lucky me i also own a 1972 Amigo and love it, mine is on a chevy chassis with a 350 engine and a turbo 400 tranny. it is truely the most well built motorhome aroundi pull an 18 foot dar hauler with 2 small cycles and a geo metro on it and have little trouble till i find some big hills.
as to the gentleman that kinked the shift cable, i an guess ing that you have a chrysler chassis and you should be able to find it in the chrysler house if you can find a parts man that knows anything.happy trails

Hi guys. I used to work for Amigo Motorhomes in San Marcos California back in the 70s. They were one of the best built motorhome of itís time. They were all steel welded constructions. We only rolled out about 2 a week and were all hand built. No prefab. The company closed up due to the big gas crunch in the 70s. They were built mostly on the Dodge chassis but we did a very few on the Chevy chassis. If you ever get a chance to pull the carpet up in the back, look for some artwork on the plywood sub floor. We had a guy that did some art on everyone he worked on.
