7 years ago I bought a Southwind Motor home on a chevy P-30 chaissy with a 454. I change the the oil every 3000 miles or every season. And have had nothing but problmes with it ever since. I now have 50,000 miles on it and it now has the notorious lowwer end rod knock and am trying to figure out what is the best thing to do now.
When I was looking for a class A motor home i whated it on a Ford Chassiy And could not find one. I have replaced the hidrovac brake boster twice and the ex...............
At 50,000 miles on my 1987 Southwind motor home I have what I heard in the standard 454 Lower end rod knock. Last season I replaced the manifolds for the second time and they were crack when I purchased it but didn't know.
The brake hydro unit twice as well.
Has anyone else had this bad of luck with the P-30 chevy Chassis.
