Post New Message Yep, you were either hydro-planing or just plain slipping--the difference is a "never mind" the result is the same--you were on the edge of a spin out. NEVER drive on wet roads, either water, snow, ice, etc. with cruise control on or exhast brake on. The cruise will attempt to keep the speed you have set causing the rear end to "swing around", same with the exhast brake. The formula for hydro-planing is a bit complicated but figure the speed is about 50% of the tire pressure--however much depends on the tread pattern, tire pressure, tread depth, type of road surface, etc.
