Emergency Road Service LarryN 9-6-02
My wife and I are new to RV'ing and would like some advise regarding Emergency Road Service.
Camping World has sent us information regarding their Affinity Road & Travel Club. It sounds like a good deal at $79 for the first year, but we would like some other opinions.

We have Family Motor Coach Association Road side assistance which covers both the RV and personal vehicles. Have not had to use it yet. We also have Cummins road side assitacnce that cam free with our DP purchase. We are researching now as to which we will keep when time comes to renew.

We have Good Sam Club service. Excellent service and I have used their road side assistance several time. One of the best service.

I'm with AAA.......couldn't be happier with the road service and towing.

They have done the research with the right towing companies, have the equipment and attitude.

AAA is first Class as far as I'm concerned. Good luck

We use Good Sam as well... We had a major breakdown. Good Sam took care of finding us a repair shop and handled all the detail of making sure they were waiting on us when the tow truck pulled us in.. ( the tow alone would have been 500)They con't to call and ck on our safety and if the assistance had arrived yet...We are now on MH # 2 and the first thing we did was make sure we had Good Sam coverage......Best service we have ever had dealing with MH's.

My experience with AAA. Was out of state called sent some hayseed from Memphis to change tires on van after wreck. Hayseed used wrong jacking point bent the heck out of fender. Wouldn't repair or pay for repair and AAA said that it wasn't their fault and wouldn't help me recoup any monies from loss, because was out of state. ALL AAA ARE INDEPENDENT AND IF YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR HOME STATE GOOD LUCK. Would NEVER have again!

We have had Allstate ERS, which is in partership with KOA, for 3 years. We had one claim in RV for a flat tire at night on the interstate. We were back on the road in 90 minutes and I never saw a bill. I got a survey from Allstate asking if I was satisfied with the service. Have had two calls for my car for a tow and no problems there either. It is around $80 year.
So far we are pleased with them.

We have Good Sam Road Service. Used it once with a front blow-out. They sent a roll-back flat bed semi trailer to load up my 40 ft diesel pusher. Very complicated, very time consuming. Delivered us to a tire shop at 2:00 a.m. No charge - No damage. Very satisfied. I'm sure it would have been over $300 out of pocket.

WE ALSO HAVE ALLSTATE. USED IT IN OCTOBER. BLEW INSIDE DUAL ON MOTOR HOME. ALLSTATE TOOK CARE OF IT WITH NO COMPLAINTS AND ALSO NEVER SAW A BILL. WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP IT.
Re: Emergency Road Service Robert 1-2-03
Just for info - Both Camping World and Good Sam use Affinity as their Emergency Service Provider.
Re: Emergency Road Service sue 5-26-03
Fyi - Affinity is GM
Re: Emergency Road Service Lily 3-9-04
Affinity is not a GM company.
Affinity Road & Travel Club, Inc. is owned by the same company as the Good Sam Club. It's called Affinity Group, Inc. and they are the leaders in the RV industry. They also publish Trailer Life and MotorHome magazines.
