Re: repairing rotting wood in walls by BUBBA THE BUS TECH
Post New Message You did not say what make or type trailer you have.

Metal siding trailers repair proceedure:
Remove door, windows, corner mouldings on that side of trailer.

Remove siding

Rebuild rot in wall using old as plan.

Reassemble all using new sealant.

Labor 30 to 100 hours.

Repair for hard wall trailer:

Basically somewhere in the proccess we need to repair the leak, brace the outside fibreglass sheet and glue it back to its sub-panel. You will need to build a 2X4 structure pushing 1//2 or 3/4 ply to flatten the bulge. To get to that point:

Remove cabinetry, and wall panel for entire area of water damage. allow to dry. Remove damaged wood backing on fiberglass wall sheet. If you can at this point brace the outside. Piece in new paneling on fiberglass glueing in place and repair wall structure.

If the wood panel backing dries and is still good and attached to the fibreglass then close up and reinstall cabinets.

Depending on size of problem 50 to 200 hours labour

Good Luck
