Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft Tim 12-27-08
I love the old Holiday Ramblers.
Just recently purchased a 1979 Presidential travel trailer from the second owner. It's in great shape, all vintage, wonder brown and orange interior. The tail lights are corroded and needs replaced. Any information on resources for replacements for the unit would be greatly appreciated.

I just purchased a 86 presidential 33. Does anyone know where i can get an owners manual for it? Thanks
Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft Sheila 10-12-08
You are blessed to have gotten the owners manuals as Holiday Rambler (who was or is owned by Harley Davidson), doesn't have manuals for my 1974 Holiday Rambler Fifth Estate 332. I inherited it as I had fallen in love with it. In fact, I love it so much that I am remodeling it and going to live in in full time! I also would love any information on these beautiful 'rigs'. Kinda sorry I took a break this year (doing research on my big design for this trailer) from looking for other Holiday Rambler owners, parts, etc., as I didn't see anyone talking about these for the last several years. Nice to see this website. Thanks!!

My 1984 33 ft travel trailer (Presidential) developed a leak around a vent. The ceiling dropped down. I want to put it back up - does anyone know how these are constructed? Do they have stringers axross the trailer? Are they just glued together? Is any ceiling material available? Just starting to onsider fixing the ceiling.

Thanks

Hi! I have a, what I think is a 1984 HR trailer, not RV. I am planning to live in it, but want to know exactly what it is. I am sorry I have no pictures yet but I believe it is either 33 or 35ft, very nice and structurally perfect. I would like to see more pictures of my rig that others own. I am including my VIN to help with ID

Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft Mark 10-20-13
Love this site. My wife and I purchased a 1988 (35th Anniversary) HRC Alumi-Lite 33' a few years ago, from Mi. Brought it to OH and have been working on it and have camped in it several times this year. It has a lot of great features that were added when new. HWH levelers, which need a hose, an aftermarket overdrive on the factory 400 Turbo transmission which turns the 3 speed into a 6 speed. I'm still working on the fridge and the hot water heater. It pulls my 28' racecar trailer, fully loaded, great.
I've been trying to find a set of tail light lenses (KD 460). Tried all over the internet with no luck. If anyone locates any or all including b/u lenses please e-mail me @ moparmark1@aol.com
And if anyone needs info on one of these let me know. Mine came w/ all service records and owners manuals.
Although ours has 120,000 mi. on it, the motor was replaced 17,000 mi. ago.
Thank you Go RVing!!

I own a vintage 1973 32' Holiday Rambler trlr and need to locate the "plug in" pig tail electric cable the 8 spade receptacle on my 99 Chev PU. Mine got destroyed! Obviously I need to be able to actuate the electric brakes or I am not going any where. I need to move my rig ASAP from Long Beach, WA to Salem, Or. Also need to start buying "fixup" parts. Rig i apparantly "#12" according to the mfg plate by door.

Please advise asap. Thank you, Bruce Nelson
Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft Howard 9-14-08
John, I have a 1984 HR Imperial 33'. Completely renovated, just added Banks Power system last week. I have all the books except the p32 chassis. I have all appliances plus original owners manual. If you have the chassis book maybe we could work a deal for copies of some of what I have if you need them.

John Motley: Owners Manual for 1983 Cynthia 4-13-13
Dear John,
I noted that you indicated that you had purchased a 1983 Holiday Rambler Imperial that had all the books with it. I have all the installation books but NOT the owners manual. Could I possibly get a copy of your owners manual, the one that will tell how to operate the various items, and switches? I would gladly trade a copy of what I have for your copies, or pay you for a copy.

Please let me know.

Tim
I was wondering if you found a place to get replacement taillights for your vintage Holiday Rambler.
My dad is needing some also. Any info. will be appreciated.
Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft ron 1-20-09
No direct replacement light availble k-d light not around any more but grote makes something that will work but you need to buy the 3 light and a single light external mount to cover the holes that are behind the origanals.
Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft Maureen Heaton 2-7-10
Doris - Hi! My husband & I just purchased a 1992 HR Imperial and are so excited. I guess 92 is not really "vintage" but when I saw your email, I figured I'd contact you. The HR is still at the dealers and we close on it next week (snowstorn kept us from paying the balance yesterday). The dealer is going to try to find/get the manuals - do you have a manual for yours? How long have you had it and where have you gone in it? I am already making lists of things to do, get, etc., but other than cleaning, it is in beautiful shape. I hope to hear from you & stay in touch. Also, do you belong to the Holiday Rambler Club? I just joined on-line - it has been in existance since 1964 and has conventions, meetings, etc. Bye for now, Maureen

Someone wants to sell or better yet go in on a 1973 Holiday. It has a home but they owe some money and dont have it to cover the cost, they told me i could own half I paid $!,000.00 so they can hold on to it since times are so hard. it would be a nice vacation get away and it is on the river. I guess my question is, is it worth the money because I dont have a clue on trying to price these trailers up. Any help is appreciated. Thank you and have a blessed day

Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler presidential 33ft Karen 8-2-15
Hello,

There is a "Vintage Holiday Ramblers Group" on facebook. We are well over 1000 owners strong.
We do not discriminate by year of model, vintage is technically anything over 25 yrs old. So please come see, one of the first members is a relative of the man who origionally built these wonderful trailers, starting in the 50s.
We have a large and growing archive under documents of manuals, layouts and models. Lots of help for repairsand parts and a sister facebook group dedicated to buying selling HRs and parts.

People are friendly, very helpful and encouraging of all restoration whether traditional stock restore all the way to personally creative redesigns. Its about the experience of HR owners not the stingent adherance to a particular pureness of vintage restoration.

By and large most people like the origonal details but some creative and crafty people have also thoroughly impressed us.

Come add your voice, experiences and any documentation you might have to share.

Ask questions, post pictures, get inspiration or confidence to Ramble On!

Re: Vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft bill WV 5-19-14
My girlfriend purchased a 1985 Holiday Rambler 33' Presidential. It needs alternator replaced or refurbished. Have owners manual which lists Lestek as manuf. of alternator but that company went out of business 10 yrs ago and successor company to Holiday Rambler only has records to 1999. Manuf of chasis was Chevrolet and engine is V8 4 bbl. My question is what is amperage of original alternator and what is part or model # of that alternator Thx in advance for any assistance. Bill
