Have 87 southwind rv w/454 motor. Runs great, but when accelerating at full power there is a surge.. Had the carb rebuilt, changed fuel pump and filter, and it still bogs out when I try to go uphill or high speed. Is there a fuel pump in gas tank? HELP
Sir, I hope that you have the problem solved. Here are some items that may cause the same problems? There is a booster pump located next to the tank. Your fuel system is a recurc type this is to prevent vapor lock. To rule out fuel starvation which may be one of the problems, is to install a T" in the fuel supply line, you should have min 1-2 lbs at wide open throttle based on avg coach load up-hill or towing. If you would need more help e-mail me I will help you the best I can.
I have fuel vapor lock problems at temps above 90 (see my add on line) Can you tell me if you ever found out if there is a fuel pump in the tank? I have an 86 Chevy P30
