Re: Converting 6v92 DDEC to mechanical F.I. by BVFireDept.
Post New Message Thanks BTBT, The 85 Seagrave is not wired for DDEC. We have an almost new less than 5000 miles 6v92 DDEC at a deal. It was in a fire pumper that was rolled. We were told it was a "Silver 92" which would have worked fine. True an electronic DDEC would be the way to go as we even have the engine computer. The wiring harness on th engine going back to the cab was severed. Our 85 Pumper 6v92 was rebult 3 years age for almost $13k and we did not even get kissed. Shame I know. When it ran hot this time it lost power,I looked back and it looked like the doghouse was on fire. It also had a small stream of water coming from the exhaust. Was on a fire call at the time. Will try to get info from Detroit.
