Screaming engine, belt, alternator, pulley or something else. by Linda Setinc
Post New Message Screaming engine, belt, alternator, pulley or something else, besides me.
76 Winnebago Brave, 44 Chrysler engine. Runs great.
Recently, it screams. I thought it was the power steering, but the fluid is full, and when I turn the wheels far, that has a different screaming sound.
I sprayed some WD40 on the belts while bumping the engine. No help.
It does it for awhile, 5 minutes or so, after I start it, then, sometimes, it quits for awhile, but starts back up again, even while I'm driving, within minutes.
An autozone helper suggested it might be the alternator, or a pulley.
How can I determine if it is either?
Or, what other suggestions can I get... for the screaming.
