I have an '88 Tioga with a Ford E-350 chassis/carbureted 460.
It will start but will only run for 10 to 20 seconds and then it dies. No sputtering or nothing, just dies. I let it set for about 30 minutes after 15 minutes of trying to start it yesterday, it fired and ran for almost 2 minutes then died again. Back to square one.
I just had the in-tank fuel pump replaced about 3 months ago but have only put maybe 200 miles on it since then. It's been sitting with no starts for the last couple of months.
Hi i had a mason dump like that,we tried everything finally we drained the gas tank and found 8 gallons of water in tank, so we replaced the tank good luck.
Had same problem with a 1987 e350 carb 460.
Was the in tank fuel pump.
Got fed up and installed a cheap solid state 5 psi fuel pump.
Cut into the fuel line along the chassis and ran power switched from the ign circuit on the underdash fuse box.
Problem fixed.
