I have a 1972 2200 superior motor home can anyone tell me if there was an option for gas or diesel engine. mine is diesel has some changed this over thanks dave

It was changed over. They were available with a 318, 413 and a 440. All Gas engines.

What diesel is in it? Does it fit well and run well.

I just had a new rear end and tranny put in our 1973, now to tune up the 440 motor. I think I would have been cheaper to change diesel.

Hi David,

I am surprised to learn that a 1972 Superior MH is made that uses diesel. I don't have the answer as to whether someone changed your unit from gas to Diesel. I'll have to look at my manuals to see if there is any mention of this. Today is Wednesday, by Friday I'll let you know if I learned anything about a Superior diesel MH.

I think they were originally a 413--dodge engine Gasoline

I have a 73 Superior 2200 and have fitted a 6.2 Ford 6 cyl diesel and 6 speed box. Also air hydraulic brakes. It now does 75 mph and returns 18 20 mpg, UK gallon which is slightly more. It runs very well.
