I not use my RV to often, instead I just start the engine every other month and let it to reach the operational temperature, but the lhe last time when I try to turn on the engine it run for 2 min, then stop as it run our of fuel, I check it,and was fine, then I change the Fule filte, and plugs, and re star againg, it run for a comple sec, then was down as run out of fuel, any idea waht is the next step. thanks
The above answers are possibilities, but I would guess that the fuel is getting old and has turned to varnish. (Smell inside your gas tank. See if it smells like varnish) This will plug up lines, filters and carburetors. Fuel will only last about a year without the addition of a stabelizer like "Sta-Bil" being added.
A better storage or winterizing method is to add a strong dose of "Sta-Bil" to a completely full tank and run the engine for maybe 20-30 minutes. Spray a marine fogging oil into the carb while running and shut it off. Then remove all spark plugs and spray marine fogging oil into each cyl. and replace plugs. Disconnect and remove the battery and do not start it untill you are ready to use it again. This will also prevent all the wear and tear of all those cold starts. Keep the battery inside on a trickle charger or 'battery maintainer'.
If the reason your engine stopped running is in fact fuel-varnish. you will have to drain and clean the tank, replace all your filters, blow out the line and clean (overhaul) the carburetor. The use of "Sta-Bil" is MUCH cheaper than this!!
