I have a 1986 Winnebago that I believe may have thrown a crank bearing. I have a mechanic looking at it. Though it may be repairable I am starting to consider replacing the entire engine so I can avoid other problems in the future. Any help would be appreciated.
What should I expect to pay for a remanufactured 454 Chevy. How much labor to replace it?

It's not going to be cheap. Consider locating the later design 454 with the reverse flow cooling and improved valve train, this eliminates the two big problems of the earlier design.
