Chassis electrical Jeff 10-14-06
I just got a 1976 Diplomat coach with 440 CID. The dash guages do not work. The chassis lights work properly, the coach wiring is fine.Yesterday I moved the coach about 50' and shut it off. When I went to start it again it was as if someone stoled the battery. No power on the Chassis side (not even head lamps)but coach 12V side OK. Terminals are clean, battery is up and I did not find any visable loose connections. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions to help locate the two problem areas
Re: Chassis electrical bubba the bus tech 10-14-06
You have in order of liklyhood, 1: a bad ignition switch. 2: power supply failures to the switch, all start guage and ignition power goes thru the switch. it then divides to operate guages and accessories this feed may be split two ways or a single feed. Ignition and start. The ignition may also be split into two seperate feeds.
I got money I would bet on the switch being bad.
Goos Luck
