After sitting all winter the motorhome started once and moved the next time it turns over won't start and blew all the guages on the dash. Narrowed it down to a modulator but can't even find it or anyone who knows where it is. HELP
After dealing with several mechanics and trailer dealerships and trying several other parts that's what they narrowed it down to. They say it deals with fuel, spark and electric all together.
A 92 Ford must be fuel injected.Maybe its the electric fuel pump, sometimes called the fuel module. Its located in the gas tank.Did a search at a ford website and nothing on fuel modulator. If no power to dash did you check all fuses.? I think I would go to a Ford Dealer and go to the parts department and have them pull it up on his computer,it should show part and location. Good Luck Mike
That system uses relays to turn the fuel pump on, there is also one that turns on the ECM when the ignition is turned on, then the ecm commands the fuel pump relay on, then the pump comes on. A bad pump can draw on the relays causing them to melt down and short.
I bought a book from the auto parts store on trucks using the same motor as my class A RV. The only problem was the things shown mounted on the firewall had been relocated making them hard to find. I finally found it by looking at the wiring diagram and identifying what was on either side that I could find on the RV. I then traced the wires from both directions to locate the component. Good luck.
We have checked with the local Ford dealer. I emailed Holiday Rambler, called Holiday Rambler, talked to at least 4 different mechanics in our area. Now our one helper says he meant the TFI module. He said this is what runs fuel, spark, and guages. Still can't find it. It's a class A motorhome chasis with a Ford 460 motor in it. Anybody have any help?
Our 2005 Neptune started fine last week. Will not start this week. When ignition key is turned to start, nothing happens. Engine will not turn over. Checked batteries and they are up. If you could help, we sure would appreciate it.
Thank you so much for your great site. We'd like to take a trip to escape the rest of the winter.
