At least once or twice a year in last 5 yrs. MH engine cuts out whether on the flat or at different speeds and regardless of outside temperatures, but starts almost immediately after coasting to a stop. Had it checked at Chev dealerships and independent auto shops in CA and AZ but if not on scope at time of stall can't be diagnosed. And all tests show MH in A-one condition. Recently the gas gauge has dropped below full and bobs up and down. Could these problems be related. Had the fuel tank dropped and new fuel filter replaced first time it stalled and assumed problem was fixed.
Been lucky no stalls going up or down hills so far -- Any ideas?
I guess no codes stored in computer. I think I would connect a volt meter when driving to the 12volts supply to the Distributor and watch for the instant it dies and see if it has voltage. Need to find out if is a fuel problem or electrical.Could be lots of things.Maybe try a different distributor but keep the old one.Check for good connections on all plugs on distributor and wiring.Think gas gauge problem may be related to droping the tank. Keep us posted what you find as may help someone else. Mike
Both problems were related to the fuel pump. Had the gas tank dropped and found the engine cutout was caused by short in wiring of the rheostat on the sender of the fuel pump. The gas gauge dropping was also related to the sender. After repairs gas gauge back to normal.
