I have worked though the same problems with my rig, but I have it smoking alittle (blue smoke) and runs rough. Tuned up the rig and it started right up, but it runs rough and still smokes. I tried to adjust the carb but it still smokes blue. What do I need to do, rebuild the carb or are there other adjustments I need to make?
Blue smoke is oil burning...many times on a 440 it is caused by the valve guide seals cracking/splitting and allowing to much oil down the guides. You must take off the valve springs to do this. Also you could run AMS oil fully synthetic it wont burn... Paul....1978 Winnebago Brave
