Are the exhaust manifolds of A class motorhome interchangable with C class 440 engine?
Re: dodge 440 exhaust David S 9-4-03
Greetings!

The left side will probably fit, but there are two styles for the right side, one with the collector in the middle and one with it back towards the rear of the engine.

Based on everything I've read, you would be much better off springing for headers. The fact that there are replica parts available tells me they break frequently.

Hi, Used to have a 76 with a 440 and used both headers and stock exhust on it. The right side gets VERY hot and caused the stock exhust to warp sometimes and one goes through many manifold gaskets. Got the stock exhust ground down and that solved the many gaskets problem but still needed to once in a while. When I had the headers on, needed to replace the gaskets pretty often and the reason for that was the flange on the headers wasn't very thick and it would warp as well. Get a good set of headers, one with a large dia. pipe, protect your starter from the heat, might have to install a little more installtion under the floors to help keep the heat away and you should be ok. Have fun.
