Where do you set marks at on a 1989 chevy s-10 blazer v6 4.3ltr.trying to set timing i know about disconecting EST wire under passanger side then setting but still not running right. Can someone help?
Look on the underhood label, it will give you the base timing setting with the EST disconnected. If you are resetting the timing, it can only mean that your camshaft is out of time with the crankshaft. Before you start moving the distrib around, check and see what timing you have now. A rule of thumb is that one tooth off at the camshaft sprocket translates to 7 1/2 degrees at the crankshaft pulley timing marks.
I have a 1988 s-10 the motor runs but misses i think its out of time in the distrubter its a 2.5 i need advice to put it back in time. need also the timing marks also.
I have a 1989 XLT Ford Ranger with a 2.3 liter 4 cyl. And I need to find out where the timing marks are suppose to be. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help, thanks.
