1995 Flair Ford 460 Fred 5-19-03
Hi All,
Just purchased a 1995 Flair w/33k miles.
Has anyone had or anyone know about any major problems. I just had the hydro-boost replaced and there was a exhaust manifold leak that was fixed. I also noticed yesterday that when I started it up, as it was running, water coming from the exhaust pipes? should that be a concern? any help would be appreciated. New to the motorhome world..thanx again
Fred

Feel free to email me.....

Hi fred, i also have a 1990 flair class a with the 460. how do you know if you have a manifold exhaust leak. new to this to

Some water coming from the exhaust on initial start up is normal.

Exhaust manifold's on the 460 have been known to snap off bolts or crack at the bolt hole due to high heat causing expansion of the manifold.

I don't know whether Ford made adjustments to solve this problem or not.

So far their V10 has not had this problem.

Maybe someone else can give a little more information about this problem.

Hi Thanks for the info..as a matter of fact the mechanic told me that the problem was at the bolt hole. Not sure what they did to correct the problem. Hopefully this wont be a recurring issue...

Hey Joe,

Well I found out when I brought it to a mechanic to do a checkup before I bought it. I wanted to see what kind of condition it was in. It actually is in great condition, but I was more interested in mechanical soundness than cosmetic. They found that and also a hydro boost problem...I recommend taking it in for a mechanical checkup. Look for rv mechanics in your local area and see what they charge for a complete check. I paid about 127 bucks
and think it was worth it. Good luck....
