|Hard-wired coil, now running hot. Related?||jeremy||7-15-17|
|Lost my keys. Pulled out ignition and hard wired coil to start it. Is this the reason it is running hot now or does it have nothing to do with why it is running hot now????|

|Depending on what engine and year maybe.|
If you have by-passed the computer control for ignition advance definitely possible.
On older units hot wiring like this will cause failures of several ignition components, coil, points, capacitor, etc.
Most likely you are running excess voltage into the dash gauges by back feeding the system
