F53 7.5L, intermittent issue with multiple symptoms Raymond 5-25-17
30' Newmar Dutchstar (gas) 1999 model with a 1997 chassis. Random loss of power with check engine light, hesitation, rpm needle erratic and an eventual backfire. Turn RV off/right back on and it will drive fine for about 100 miles and then repeat. On a long drive it starts to happen more frequently. Also tried kicking it into neutral, turn off switch, and re-start and problem would go away for another few miles, then do it all over again. No codes are showing up. Had a complete tune-up 1800 miles before this started. Have since replaced the coil, O2 sensor, fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. Ford mechanics can not find anything wrong and do not want it back. Johnny had the same issue dated 10-26-14 however no discovery was posted.

Raymond, I have a similar problem but with no backfires. Let me know if you have figured this out?. I always start with the simplest thing and cross my finger. If its a fuel issue start at the beginning of the entire system. Change the gas cap. maybe the vent is clogged?. This probably isn't it but if that vent ever does get clogged it will not allow enough air for optimum fuel flow. Let me know if you figured this out. Ive got a 1996 E350 with the 460/7.5 as well.
