1977 Dodge 360 no compression-RV M40 Chassis Dan 4-27-17
I dont have any compression on cylinders except 6 and 8.....suspect timing chain skip....I put air into #1 can hear valves open and close......will timing chain check remove cover) be feasible to check? I have rotated distrutor to try and start to no avail....fuel pump looks new but wont pump fuel.....possible CAM prob instead/also? should I try and pull motor or just timing chain first? Will have to cut out front of rv to remove engine.

1st Your engine is supposed to be dropped out the bottom, but cutting the body is common.

2nd Does the distributor rotor turn while cranking the engine? Yes means skipped chain, No means something broke. I am betting if the fuel pump don't pump something broke. I wouldn't be the fist time a timing sprocket broke and caused these symptoms. If it did the oil pan will need to come off and be cleaned.

Might as well start by pulling the timing cover and looking, it needs to happen either way.

By the way: Changing a camshaft is a big job but can be done in chassis.

Good Luck
