Sounds like a bad rotor, distributor cap coil, pick up coil or module.

First confirm fuel and that the timing chain has not jumped a tooth.

The cap, rotor and pick up coil are very easy to check.

Look inside the distributor cap, is it corroded dirty or does it have tracks left from cross arching? replace cap and rotor. Does the rotor have a burnt tip or a black stain in the center? Replace cap and rotor.

The pick up is easy unplug it from the system, use an ohmmeter to confirm continuity.

Good luck
