460 help Rodney 2-15-16
I have a 1977 roll-a-long c class motorhome with 58000 original miles on it. I have two broken exhaust manifold bolts and have to remove the heads to get it fixed. I want to have the heads rebuilt and opened up so it can breath. Is it worth it or should I by new heads. The engine runs good, but I would like to get more power without sacrificing longevity, need some feedback, thanks !

Your Tourque monster 460 is not fuel efficent by todays standards.

Off the shelf hot rod parts are going to make it less desirable as Heads, cams etc will tend to move the power band to higher RPM where you dont want it.

Using an RV Cam and Headers will get you the most bang for your buck.

I wouldnt spring for heads but rebuilding yours and planing to bump the compression might be worth it.

Good Luck
