1987 itasca to change main rear seal on engine Allen richey 11-17-15
My r. v. lost all of its oil from the rear of the engine by oil pan. Could this be a main rear seal? If so,how difficult is it to change?

You have not provided any chassis info

If you have a ford or chewv engine could be critical

Most of the CHev product have an oil pressure sender below the distributor and straight up from your oil. A sudden oil leak is this item 95% of the time. Cheap and easy to repair.

To change the rear main seal: Remove the transmission. o may need to remove the oil pan and rear main bearingg cap. For most of these motor homes it is actually easier to remove the engine and transmision assemblly, then replace the sealand re-assemble and re-install.

Good Luck
