Leaking Oil Sean 9-15-15
I have a 1986 Coachman with Chevy big block 454 engine that lost quarts of oil directly out of the driver's side exhaust manifold. I know it sounds impossible, but mechanic confirmed he had never seen anything like that. He is looking at pulling the head as he believes it's a cracked head. But you know how that goes...it may or may not be that and has estimated 12-16 hours of labor to just find out. Anyone else out there had this problem? Any suggestions of what else could cause this major problem? We want to get back on the road asap. Thanks a bunch. Peace, Sean
Re: Leaking Oil BUBBA THE BUS TECH 9-16-15
If the oil is inside the exsaust there is no good news. (Outside is diferrent)

You do not have a cracked head, you have a damaged or broken piston. It may have droped a valve or broken a ring land or any # of things that all add up to buy another engine.

Good Luck.
