|BOUNDER MOTORHOME 1996 CHEVY 454 V8 ENGINE - PROBLEM STARTING||ALINA PIZZI||5-18-15|
|MY BOUNDER MOTORHOME 1996 CHEVY 454 V8 ENGINE STARTS THE FIRST TIME AND SOUNDS/IDLES FINE BUT AFTER I SHUT IT OFF AND TRY TO RESTART IT, IT WILL NOT. I HAVE DONE/CHECKED MOST OF THE STANDARD SUGGESTIONS. |
PROBABLY ONLY THING LEFT TO DO (THAT I KNOW OF) IS REPLACE THE BOBBIN AND COMPLETE CHANGING THE GAS. I DON'T BELIEVE ITS THE GAS, WHEN IT STARTS IT DOESN'T SPUTTER, ETC. JUST WON'T RESTART.

|Not quite sure what a bobbin is. Not a normal american term for a auto part involved in the starting system.|
Big Block GM engines have a historic problem with hot starts. The starters get hot and won't turn the engine. Commonly when you go looking for the cause you find missing heat sheilds, blocked airflow over the starter etc. I have built a couple heat sheild and cold air duct systems to cool them enough to start.
Also heat related sensor issues, fuel pump relays the go bad when hot and fuel pumps that quit when hot.
Basically you need to do a complete diagnoses the next time it wont start.
