R-vision 2006 trail lite Alistair 6-10-14

We have a R vision 2006 trail lite. It has only covered 12000km and yesterday the oils pressure warning light came on. Says it running at 20psi on tick over. Lifts up a bit to 27-30 when driving.

Can someone let me know is this is normal? Why is the light coming on? And what could be the problem.

Thank you

Are you relying on the dash guage for these readings? I would put more money on a bad sender than a bad engine. You should plumb in a "Master guage" and check the real pressure.

WHat chassis do you have?

The engine make model etc are critical to your question.

But you are correct the pressure readings are slightly low.

It's a GM 8.1 v8 petrol. Not sure if it's the standard presure as it seem to ideal around 40 now.
