Excessive heat from engine compartment Bob 6-22-02
I have a 97 Winnebago adventurer and I am getting exceesive heat from the engine compartment. I have replaced the seal on the cover and it still hot air leaks around the cover. Any ideas?

Add some heat shield insulation to the bottom side of the dog house cover. You may even be able to make the new insullation a litle larger and tuck it in as you put the cover back on. You could also get some closed cell foam tape and put around the edge where the cover seal can seat against. Good luck and stay cool.

Could the heat be intended to heat the area?

I have a lot of heat on my feet (used 1990 GMC CUT AWAY).

I would love to figure out a way to get the heat off my feet for the summer anyway!

Re: Excessive heat from engine compartment wrench 6-23-02
I use Hardi-backer, it's a 1/4" thick panel made of concrete & fiber.
Cut to fit, If I have to glue, I use anchor paste and bolts & nuts.
