|Ford 460 AC intermitten||Jim Jardine||7-22-12|
|Th AC on my Ford 460 in a Airbus (1998)|
cuts out on even a small incline. My
mechanic says it's supposed to do that.
to put more power to the wheels. I had
460 in a previous motorhome and it only did this on a long up hill pull.
It's been suggested to me to check for a vacuum leak, I found one but that didn't fix it. It was also suggested that the Mass Air Sensor or the throttle control sensor might think there's more demand than there really is. I don't know where these sensors are. Does anyone have a good solution
or suggestions I can take to my mechanic?
It's been pretty uncomfortable traveling like this. i've run the RV generator and coach AC part of the time.

|You need to have your engine computer scanned with a scanner that reads what the sensors are saying, not just codes.|
You also need a person who knows what he is looking for.
The MAF (mas air flow) sensor can get dirty (oil and polution film) and read funny.
In the Ford this is rare though.
