Oil leaking onto spark plug mike 8-14-11
My water pump belt came off cause my 1978 440 dodge motorhome to over heat a lot. Since then oil leaks into the cylinder 1 & 3 causing caron build up on the spark plugs. They begin to misfire and the engine runs rough and back fires on accel. Any ideas other than redoing the heads.

The engine is cooked.
Needs a rebuild, probably not just heads.
Sorry and good Luck

Thanks Bubba, thats what I though also, but when I clean the plugs, the engine runs fine for about 120 to 150 mile and then the plugs clog up again, then I clean them and it runs fine. It still has good compression and I don't seam to have any coolant leaks. I did cook some vaccume hose and #1 plug wire, (#1 spark plug is the worst of the two), all wires and vac hoses have been replaced. Someone told me today that I may have cooked the valve seals and to try replacing them first. What do you think, is this worth the try?
Thanks again for your help.
