Gas to diesel swap Greg 3-6-11
Hey is there anybody on the east coast that can take a v10 out of a ford motorhome {f53 chassie} and put in a 7.3 powerstroke or a cummins in and about how much would it cost?

You're better off with the cummins, either way cost is about 15K.

Have a '77 swinger 30'. Ireplaced a 440-3 dodge gas engine with a 400 cat turbo with programmable efi and allison automatic. changed rear gear to a 3.93:1 ratio. went from 5.5 mpg to 17 mpg. will climb amy hill at 70 mph at half throttle. Total cost for the changeover with me doing the work was 4,200 bucks. The cat and tranny had less than 25k miles and I sold the tired ol 440 to a drag racimg buddy for 1500. net cost was 2,800 and about 60 hours to make the conversion. the conversion paid for itself in fuel savings in about 6k miles, and the amazing improvement in driveability and power is just an added bonus.
