Major fuel leak from canister-shaped object under engine. Just bought an old 1983 Pace Arrow - 454 chevy engine. Got it home and parked on a downhill slope, when I noticed a serious fuel leak from under engine compartment. Is this a fuel filter or fuel pump? Either way, I gotta fix it, but it would be nice to know what I'm dealing with first. I knew with such an old vehicle, I'd have some problems, and here's the first, any help?

OK, got my hands dirty, and crawled up uner there (I'm 59, it's not fun anymore). It's thes fuel pump. Ordered a new one. Let's hope it's not too much hassle to install. Just gotta make sure the engine's in the right position to install it.

Turn it around where tank is lower than engine---or will will get soaked
mechanical pump is bolted on the engine, steel/rubber lines.
or do you mean Carbon canister 6" diameter is leaking several rubber lines in it?
