Should I put a accessory trans. cooler on my 25'RV? I also noticed a little leak on the engine oil lines going through the rad. This system is strange to me. The lines are neophrene and steel, and are leaking at the joint. They look very high pressure, I guess 50 or 60 lbs.p.s.i., can a accessory engine oil cooler be installed, and how.
Are you looking at trans cooler lines and not oil....usually oil coolers and aux trans coolers are mounted in front of radiator...trace those lines. Standard trans cooler lines are run through bottom rad tank

The rad is a cross flow, trans. lines on left side(pass.) and engine oil lines into rad on right side(drivers side). Should I mount an auxiliary trans. and engine oil cooler? How would I mount the engine oil cooler with the stock steel/neophrene 1/2" line, with crimped fittings?

Have you checked out the cooling system for proper operation and good flow? If you havent I would venture to say you are starting on the wrong end of the page for trouble shooting over heating in your 454 engine as it shouldnt need 2 oil coolers unless you are realy over loaded or lugging the engine all the time. Just my .02 cents
They shoud supply new lines,or NAPA can make up new ones..usully cooler will mount in front of rad. But check Rad cap, and may need rad flushing first see if this doesnt help. Unless you are towing and doing a lot of mountain climbing standard shoud be ok

Thanks Bob for the info. The engine oil lines go through the rad tank, just like the trans. lines do on the other end of the rad. They go in the block at the back on the drivers side. G.M. wants $110 each. But you can't run with leaking lines. Guess I'll run with a accessory trans. oil cooler, in front of the rad.
