I have a 1986 itasca 27ft 454 with all the emissions,it developed this miss with low power when i pulled off the freeway, i replaced all sparkplugs and wires, module, rotor, cap, coil, fuel filter, fixed some vacum leaks, etc,it seems to run great under acceleration but at an idle it has a real dead miss it shakes the steering wheel i can hear more in the exhaust outlet then sitting on top of the engine, when i bring up the rpm's up it seems to smooth out--- kinda, it has an after market edlebrock carb,i have the mixture scerws turn out about 2 turns,it also has a little run on when turn it off----any ideas
BAck to basics. Figure out what hole is missing, check the compression. If it is a wandering miss (not set on one cylinder) I am betting the carb needs a tear down and very carefull claen and rebuild. Good Luck
Definately right---with engine running -Use High voltage insulated wire puller--pull each plug wire off distributor cap--till you find the one that (DOESN"T) change the rpm---do a compression test on that cylinder,
Bubba Thanks,
still could be a bad wire or bad plug---test it
