454 Engine looses power at 40 mph by Mike
Post New Message I purchased a 1988 Winn Chieftain 22 with a 454 carb engine. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, coil and she runs great to about 40 mph. At 40-45 the motor looses power, sputters and back fires until I take my foot off the gas and then it will run up to 40 and do the same thing. The gas is new. I could not find the fuel filter so it has not been replaced. The motor only has 58k on it. I am looking for any help. Also has anyone worked on the wiper assembly?
