Re: Squeaking belts by Lonnie
Post New Message Hello. I have had the same problem for some time with squeeking. Tuesday, I got on the highway and the noise was terrible. It eventually stopped, as usual, but this time the battery indicator showed that the batteries were practically dead. I returned home to a RV repair center. They said it was either the idler or altenator. They replaced one belt, the serpentine for the altenator and it worked fine. All my power came back. Now, two days later, the squeeking is back and I think it is the other main belt but not sure. The battery gets drained down on all three units. I too have the ford f460 in a coachmen santara, 1997. Could it just be the main belt now or should I be concerned about a more expensive option of replacing the altenator?
