1988 ford ranger fuel problem Jason 2-4-08  
I replaced both fuel pumps and filter but the truck wont start both pumps are working i was wondering if the fuel injecters went dry if so how to fix it if not dont know what else to do

Truck tries to start. runs for about 2 seconds and dies. what do i look for thanks ZANE

There is a inertia switch under middle of the dash kinf of on firewall. you can push the top down.it controls when you get into an accident it shuts off all fuel try clicking it to see if that helps

I had/have this problem also. Every once in a blue moon my 1988 ranger won't start and sounds like no fuel. If I push the reset and give alittle tug on the wires going to the fuel shut off it will start. Obviously the connector/wires need to be replaced. But it works and I know how to fix it and it only happens occasionally. It is kind of a stupid place to put a fuel shut off also (just under the rug passenger side, left, near hump on floor).
