Have 1999 26ft fleetwood mallard. my safety switch bathroom socket now continuously trips whether there is electricity or not. i have replaced the whole double socket and the fault remains as before. this system protects 2 other sockets and i have removed any electrical items which were plugged in. fault remains. all other sockets are ok and behave normally. i have checked fuses and relays.all ok.what should i check next ?

Somewhere in your camper there is a short circuit-causing the GFI receptacle to trip- check the reefer receptacle---maybe water got in it---which would cause tripping.
un plug the cable from 115 volts check the cable end and where it actually connects to the power panel-you might fine a problem.
wal marts carry replacement cables--if it looks bad--make sure you wire it correctly

I have found that many times this is caused by a bad element in the hot water heater. The heater has to be disconected from house current to diagnose this it could also be the element for the fridge, unplug the fridge at the back and see if it still does this. good luck

We have a 1991 Mallard 5th wheel. Recently we started losing 120 volt appliences and receptacles. One day they work and the next day there is no power.

The circuit breakers do not trip and if you put a volt meter on the breaker you will read 120 volts.

Questions:

1) How is the RV wired?? Do the 120 volt circuits go directly from the breaker to the end device or do they route through the inverter?

2) What if the hot (black) and white wires are reversed? could this cause this type problem??
