Disconect the converter from the 12 volt and recheck its output voltage. Hooking it up 24 volt may not have hurt it but hooking it up backwards almost allways causes damage. If it gives 13.5 or better volts no load then check polarity and reconect and re-check. If it wont pass these tests its toast. Rember a small converter working against two stone cold dead batteries won't have squat for voltage anyway. Charge the batteries on a trickle charger until they read over 12.5 volts. Then the converter should be able to raise the voltage over 13.5. When this is all done and it has failed the tests replace the converter. By the way a dead RV battery will take a minumum 72 hrs to charge from dead. The gen set will help but it wont fully charge the batteries without you getting linched in the campground. Good Luck |
