Power to trailer plug thomas 12-11-07
I have no power to the taillight post on my trailer plug. It is on a 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500 dually. I have blinkers and stop lights but no taillights or clearance lilghts on my trailer. Is ther an inline fuse somewhere that I do not know about. I have checked the fuses in the fuse box to no avail. I need someone to tell me where to look. No power to the brown wire on the trailer plug.
Re: power to trailer plug BUBBA THE BUS TECH 12-12-07
Most of the newer chevs have a second fuse box just inside the drivers door on the side of the dash. Thats where those fuses were on the only Chev I have worked on in a long while. Most new units also have a magic box that will shut off an out put if there is a short in the trailer wiring. Don't know if your chev is this way. If it is it needs to be re set by the dealer. Lastly all these plugs are notorious for corrosion inside the plug and conections to it. Good Luck
