I have a Dodge Champion Motorhome with a 318 engine. I've bought a new battery and new alternator but the auto store I go to says the alternator is not charging the battery. They told me it is some sort of short but I cannot find one anywhere. The only thing I could find is two wires are dangling and I don't know where they go. One wire is white and screwed into the inside firewall (obvously a ground wire) but where does the other end go. Another wire goes from what looks like the head lights to the inside of the RV. How do I fix this problem? Do these wires go to something that is keeping the alternator from charging?
It sucks pushing a motorhome out of traffic myself as I am not that strong.
Have you tried asking your question on www.ChampionFleetOwners.com. It is the Club for Champion Motorhome Owners like yourself. Their membership might know. You might also find a manual or two on the website that might help out.
I own a 1979 Dodge Concord & I have gotten a ton of excellent information from the Champion Fleet Owners web site. It is well worth the time to join the group. Bunch of great people.
