I have a 1998 prowler travel trailer and the power inverter does not charge the battery or run the slideout, slide lights, or water pump when there is no electricity. I can't find a switch anywhere to convert from ac to dc. I have current running from the inverter, but can't find the breaker from the battery. I have no current in the fuse box when the ac is disconnected. HELP!!
Hello Karen
you say "current" do you mean voltage coming from "converter" check the fuse---might be on the side--clean the battery terminals--are the batteries charged.?
I doubt you have Inverter---they take 12 volts and up it to 115---

Yes, it is voltage coming from the "power source" which is a battery charger/power supply, so maybe this is not called an inverter. I don't see any fuse on the side or anywhere on the power source. The battery terminals are clean and I charged it a couple of days ago and it registers 13 on the volt meter. This unit is supposed to keep the battery charged and run certain items in the camper, but it does not do either. Any help would be appreciated. Karen
HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE ALREADY FOUND YOUR PROBLEM WITH YOUR POWER CONVERTER. IF NOT PERHAPS THIS WILL HELP. IF YOUR CONVERTER IS MADE BY MAGNETEK, DO AN ONLINE SEARCH FOR PARALLAX POWER COMPONENTS. PARALLAX BOUGHT OUT MAGNETEK SOME TIME AGO. I JUST DOWNLOADED A TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AND SCHEMATIC FOR MY CONVERTER.
Karen
did you check your "power panel" most have both 115 AC circuit breakers and 12 volt fuses--in the same panel
Maybe its' just a bad connection somewhere, slides are terrible getting loose connections-due to movement-

I checked all the breakers at the fusebox and the fuses. According to the schmetic of the power source, there is to be another breaker somewhere between the battery and the power source, but it is not visible anywhere. I checked all the wires that are visible in and out of the camper and they all seem to be ok. Does anyone know if there is a switch somewhere to make this function or is it just supposed to work automatically when there is no ac?
